![]() TransportationThe IBC could be easily reached either by car or public transport.Road: Shuttles: The shuttle service began on 8 May. From 8 May until 21 May, shuttles were available: • every 10 minutes from 7:00 to 9:00 & 17:00 to 21:00 • every hour from 9:00 to 18:00. From 22 May until 11 July, the shuttleran from 4:30 to 1:00 on the followingschedule: • every 20 minutes from 4:30 to 6:00 • every 10 minutes from 6:00 to 9:00 • every 30 minutes from 9:00 to 18:00 • every 10 minutes from 18:00 to 00:00 • every 20 minutes from 00:00 to 1:00 From 12 July onwards, the shuttle ran every 15 minutes from 7:00 to 10:00 and 18:00 to 21:00 only. Public Transportation: ![]() For more information on travel and distances, please click here ![]() Parking: Access to IBC parking: SiteAs part of its Host Broadcaster mission, HBS implemented and operated the multilateral and unilateral construction of the IBC as well as the broadcast systems. The IBC is housed in the Munich Trade Fair Centre, a 16-hall building covering a total exhibition area of 160,000m², welcoming international trade fairs all year round. Three out of the 16 halls were reserved for the event. These halls housed the 2006 IBC (see image below) offering a total of 30,000m² for multilateral and unilateral areas, as well as a press centre. -Hall C2: hosted the smaller unilateral areas as well as the Infront Sports & Media offices and served as the Main Press Centre
The newly built North Entrance accommodated service areas with important non-broadcast services such as:
Restaurants and snacks are available in Halls C2 to C4. Media shuttles were located outside of the North Entrance with connections to Media hotels, the nearby metro station (Messestadt West) and the Munich Stadium (on match days). Freight Forwarding, Handling and StorageThe IBC had two distinct mailing addresses, one for equipment deliveries and the other for regular mail and parcels. Mail and parcels were sent to: HBS recommended that Broadcast Partners used the two permanent on-site service providers, who organised "door to door" freight forwarding from a home country to the IBC.
