FIFA appointed Host Broadcast Services (HBS) as the host broadcaster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup as well as the Other FIFA Events (OFEs) 2007-2010.

HBS’ role included every single aspect of the production of the multilateral signal as well as providing necessary services and facilities to MRLs in order to fulfil their unilateral production needs. This included the design, construction and set-up of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC).
