ONLINE INFORMATION

FIFA TV EXTRANET (HTTP://EXTRANET.FIFA.COM/TV)

The FIFA TV Extranet is a password-protected and web-based platform specifically designed to meet MRLs’ needs and interests. Information pertinent to the host broadcast of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 was made available to MRLs via this platform. During the event the following broadcast information was posted on the Extranet:

- HBS Catalogue of Services
- HBS Booking Order Forms (BOFs) and booking information
- Match running orders (including standard daily highlights running order)
- General production information
- Technical documents (such as commentary layouts)

The Extranet is the sole online platform for production and technical information. Access to the FIFA TV Extranet is restricted to specific event-time personnel.

EVENT-TIME INFORMATION AND SERVICES MANAGEMENT

INFORMATION AT THE VENUES

There was no Broadcast Information Office (BIO) at the IBCC. One BIO was established at each venue, located in the Broadcast Compound. The BIO was the first point of contact for MRLs and was managed by the Broadcast Information Manager (BIM). In addition, the FBST Manager ensured a smooth on-site information flow regarding all matters not directly related to production.

UNILATERAL SERVICES MANAGEMENT

As there were no HBS Booking Offices at the venues, the Broadcast Information Office also acted as a relay for unilateral bookings. It was the main contact point for MRLs and played a key role in the coordination of unilateral services and facilities. The management of unilateral services and facilities at venues was coordinated by the SBLO (Senior Broadcast Liaison Officer - one per venue) who travelled with the production and technical team and was present at the venues on Match Days.
