The FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013 will be a key milestone on the road to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and will give HBS, acting as Host Broadcaster, valuable experience in delivering a host broadcast in Brazil. It will be a useful testing ground for several HBS innovations. It will also allow HBS to establish an operational relationship with the LOC and other parties.
Six cities will host the competition: Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Belo Horizonte was chosen as the host city for the International Broadcast Coordination Centre (IBCC).
The Draw for the competition took place in Sao Paulo on 1 December 2012, with the eight participating teams divided into two groups of four: Group A comprises Brazil, Italy, Japan and Mexico while Group B features Spain, Uruguay, Tahiti and Nigeria.
