HBS’ CTO Presents Groundbreaking Broadcast Technology at SVG Event

The Nordic Summit, established in 2018, is a conference bringing together broadcasters from Scandinavia and beyond to discuss the new production, operational and technology challenges facing sports television, from winter to summer sports. The Nordic Summit focuses on recent examples of how broadcasters and their technology partners are innovating to improve efficiency and ensure that fans get the possible viewing experience.

Christian Gobbel will take centre stage during the ‘In Focus: The 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships’ panel, which will take place at 11:30 CET. In this session, Christian Gobbel will discuss the new technical infrastructure set up by Infront, Austrian broadcaster ORF and HBS, for the coverage of the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld, Austria.

“Seefeld is, in engineering terms, an exciting challenge for us as the MCR operations are provided from three different locations: the IBC, the host broadcast TV compound, and the rights holder TV compound. The innovative IP-based technical infrastructure that has been implemented lays the groundwork for efficiently producing events of all sizes and we are excited to share it with the professionals”, explained Christian.
