HBS Takes A Supporting Role To Deliver The 2015 FIFA Club World Cup

At the end of another action-packed year for international football, Japan hosted in December the FIFA Club World Cup at stadiums in Yokohama and Osaka. Over eight games, seven clubs (Sanfrecce Hiroshima, TP Mazembe, Guangzhou Evergrande, Barcelona, River Plate, Club America and Auckland City) battled for the trophy that was won last year by Real Madrid. Barcelona emerged as winners of the 2015 edition, beating River Plate 3-0 on 20 December.

As in previous years HBS acted as a consultant to Executive Event Producer Dentsu Sports on the event throughout the pre-planning stage and provided on site assistance and quality control, lending its host broadcasting expertise to assist Dentsu in delivering the event. Dentsu offers a comprehensive range of advertising and marketing services to its clients and was responsible for all commercial and broadcast related matters of the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

In cooperation with Dentsu, HBS’ Booking Department developed the Catalogue of Services (COS) available to Media Rights Licensees (MRLs) and were on site assisting in the management of unilateral activities.

On-site booking was also supervised and assisted by HBS, in order to best answer the needs of the 26 international MRLs on site covering the event.

HBS also deployed two Production team members on site to oversee the overall production quality and to ensure that the coverage of the games was consistent with the guidelines established by FIFA.

A successful project on and off the pitch, the partnership between Dentsu and HBS provided an unparalleled opportunity to further solidify the bonds between two key players in the sports industry. The 2016 FIFA Club World Cup will be held again next year in Japan, and HBS looks forward to cooperating with Dentsu once again.
