IBC 2017: HBS Takes The Stage

The HBS management team meets this week with world broadcast industry leaders at the annual International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) Conference and Exhibition, taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 14 to 18 September.

Deputy CEO and Chief Content Officer Dan Miodownik will participate in a panel discussion about new broadcast technologies (‘Beyond Live: New Tech Pushing The Boundaries’) on Sunday, 17 September (IBC Forum, 10:30-11:15), along with S. Salamouris (OBS), and David Shield (IMG).

Meanwhile, Chief of External Relations, Lise Cosimi will take part in two events focusing on promoting gender equality in the broadcast industry, both held in conjunction with the SVG Sport Production Summit. On Thursday, 14 September, she will take part in a ‘one-on-one conversation’ with Muriel de Lathouwer, CEO of EVS, at the Delamare Theatre (16:00) and on Saturday, 16 September, she will host a networking reception (Rai Centre first floor restaurant, 16:30-18:00) on behalf of SVG’s ongoing ‘Women in Sports Media’ initiative.

Capping off a busy agenda for HBS, the 2017 IBC Convention will also be the opportunity for HBS’ Broadcast Academy, the training arm of the company, to present to the public its Live TV Simulator – a ground-breaking training tool developed in partnership with EVS. Two training sessions have been organised on Sunday, 17 September (09:30-12:30 and 14:00-17:00). They are free of charge, but places are limited; to register to get a spot, please visit: https://show.ibc.org/broadcast-academy–train-tomorrow-stars.

HBS will be well represented at IBC 2017 by a delegation including senior production, engineering and marketing staff, led by CEO Francis Tellier, Deputy CEO Dan Miodownik and Chief Technical Officer Jörg Sander.
