HBS AND FIFA TAKE 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP™ PLANS TO SPORTEL - 15/10/2012

HBS was once again present at Sportel Monaco as CEO Francis Tellier and FIFA TV Director Niclas Ericson took part in a special press event entitled “2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil – Preparations & Deliverables”.

Recognised as the most influential business convention for top-level sports and media executives, it was a prestigious honour for HBS to speak at the event once again. The 45-minute presentation focused on the logistical challenge of setting up a major broadcast operation in a country the size of Brazil – the largest FIFA World Cup™ host country since the United States in 1994. Furthermore, the role of the FIFA World Cup™ as a platform for broadcast innovations was also discussed.

The special press event followed closely on the heels of the panel session that Francis and Niclas took part in at September’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam. On that occasion the topic of the debate was entitled “Brazil 2014: The Road to the Next FIFA World Cup™”.
