In the last few months a number of events have taken place which have allowed HBS to refine its plans for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. Among them:

  • Final Draw: 9 December 2005 at Leipzig, Germany

HBS was the Host Broadcaster of the event and successfully provided all unilateral services and the satellite distribution.

For more information about the Final Draw, please click here.

  • WBM2 Munich: 11 - 12 December at Munich, Germany - followed by Unilateral meetings from 13 to 15 December

The Second World Broadcasters Meeting for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ provided Broadcast Partners with much of the information they needed to prepare for the tournament. Detailed presentations covered a variety of technical and logistical issues. For more information about WBM2, please click here.

  • Booking Deadline for 1st round matches and 64 match packages: 13 December 2005

The deadline for requesting facilities for first-round matches and 64-match packages has now passed. Additional requests may still be considered on a case-by-case basis and will be processed in a first-come, first-served fashion. Broadcast Partners wishing to submit such requests should first contact the HBS booking department.

  • New Media Workshop: 30-31 January at Munich, Germany

HBS hosted a "mini WBM" for New Media licensees to address issues such as the production of New Media and the specific unilateral services available to New Media licensees. The New Media Workshop was held at the Hilton Park Munich on 30-31 January 2006 and included both a technical workshop and unilateral meetings.

  • Broadcast Partner Venue Tour: 5 to 10 March 2006

HBS set up a tour of all 12 FIFA World Cup™ venues. Broadcasters had to select one of two options:

Full tour of the 12 venues
  • Logistics fully organised by HBS, Munich to Munich
  • Limited number of participants

    Single venue visit
  • Broadcast Partners had to organise own logistics
