With less than 227 days to go until the start of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Germany, HBS CEO Francis Tellier took the opportunity of Sportel Monaco to make a status report of the situation for the press.

HBS CEO Francis Tellier speaking at Sportel

“All HBS preparations are well on track,” said Mr. Tellier. HBS has appointed a dream team of 6 TV directors :

  • François-Charles BIDEAUX
  • Knut FLEISCHMANN
  • François LANAUD
  • Jamie OAKFORD
  • Wolfgang STRAUB
  • John WATTS

For five of the six Directors, it will be their second or third FIFA World Cup™.

“More than 500 Broadcast Partners have already registered for the Second World Broadcasters Meeting, to be hosted by HBS and OC 2006 in Munich in early December. During the Plenary Sessions and workshops HBS will present in every detail the 16/9 HD multi-feeds that will be produced for them as well as the available “turnkey” and/or “à la carte” services. The Broadcast Partners will then proceed to book their unilateral services for the first 48 matches from HBS and T-Systems, the FIFA World Cup™ Telecommunications provider.”

These multiple feeds and services are the best way to address the expectations of FIFA and to service the diverse needs of Broadcast Partners, whose operations range from very small to most complex.

In today’s highly sophisticated world of top sport events, Host Broadcasting is a specialised function. HBS provides continuity and progress to event organisers and broadcasters by using its know-how and assets, both “hard” and “soft”, to deliver cost effective and reliable solutions.
