The inaugural season of the Superleague Formula recently came to a close on the renowned track of Jerez in the South of Spain. This innovative competition format was largely praised by experts, media, the general public and TV audiences, all of whom showed great enthusiasm for the 18 football branded unique V12 750hp cars and their drivers. Superleague Formula offered great entertainment, capturing the heart and imagination of all. Six European countries witnessed the first six rounds and the 12 spectacular races won by 8 different clubs, AC Milan, Sevilla FC, Beijing Guoan, FC Porto, BVB Dortmund, FC Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven and Al-Ain. From a television production perspective, which was the specific responsibility of HBS, the emotions and the drama of the competition were well conveyed live, in news stories and via highlights. Nicolas Duchoud, the Superleague Formula Broadcasting Director, wrote to Peter Angell, Director of Production & Programming at HBS: "On behalf of Superleague Formula, I would like to thank you and all your colleagues for your professionalism, dedication, advice and for having shared with the entire SF family the successful birth of Superleague Formula in 2008". 2008 was hailed the launch platform for the upcoming seasons. Francis Tellier, CEO of HBS said: "HBS is proud to have been involved in the TV coverage of this new and innovative series. We are proud to now have two-wheel and four-wheel motorsport events in the portfolio of production and host broadcast expertise of the Infront Group." If the on-track action will again be a major attraction in 2009, a key focus of race weekends will also be off-track entertainment. The next rounds of this exciting series are anticipated by on-site and TV audiences worldwide with eagerness and enthusiasm. |
