Mission

32nd America's Cup

For the broadcast of the first staging of the America’s Cup in Europe for over 150 years, which took place between April and June 2007 in Valencia, Spain, HBS became involved as part of America’s Cup TV (ACTV). A joint venture between HBS and TWI (an IMG Media Company), it built upon the relationship and experience forged between HBS and IMG in the broadcasting of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.

Liaising with America’s Cup Management (ACM), ACTV provided the largest scale television production and distribution of an America’s Cup.

Responsible for the organisation and delivery of the television coverage, ACTV’s role included the design and set-up and installation of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC), liaison with the various departments of ACM regarding the broadcast requirements of the event, the implementation of the Production Plan and acting as the primary point of contact for Rights Holders in the set-up of their booked Rate Card services.

The broadcast project included over 300 hours of live coverage as well as daily highlights and news programmes during competition days.
